ODE TO JOE

Happy Saint Joseph's Day to our dear dancing man.
He doesn't perform miracles,
But his loyal students think he can.

He feels true sympathy when we are sad.
I think he truly loves all of us;
And somehow understands and forgives when we are bad.

He brings us coffee, cake, cookies and cokes.
And if we get depressed or blue
He cheers us up with his talent for jokes.

He has a really beautiful singing voice,
And once thought of a singing career;
But he also loves to teach - so he made the choice.

It is so exciting when applause we hear;
And he may not be a saint,
But to us he comes pretty near!
